Becoming a Tutor

 

Being a tutor can be a very rewarding experience.  You gain personal satisfaction from helping students while having the opportunity to review and practice material from your field of interest.  We accept applications for tutors throughout the year.  Positions available depend on enrollment and area of expertise.  

 

Qualifications

  • Completion (B or better) courses in your field

  • 3.0 GPA overall with at least a 3.0 in your field

  • Ability to communicate ideas to a diverse population of students

  • Interest in helping students how to learn

Application procedure

  • Complete an online application or print a copy and return it to the ASC

  • Have an instructor complete a letter of recommendation and return it to the ASC

  • Bring a copy of your college transcripts

  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA overall with at least a 3.0 in your field
