Benchmarks flow from the assessment method and state the percent of students
expected to attain specific knowledge, skills or values, at faculty determined
levels of competency. At least one, but no more then six benchmarks are required
per learning outcome.
Examples of well written benchmarks include:
- 75% of the students in BUS 2530 will perform at a rubric score level of at
least 4 out of 5 on the analysis of case studies involving business management
theory and practice.
- 80% of the students will complete the troubleshooting questions on the ROB
2500 final with a grade of C or higher.
- 90% of the THS students will apply their understanding of network trouble
shooting by identifying them at 80% or better, as determined by the criterion
applied in written assessment format and hands-on lab assessments.
- 75% of the students whose concentration is music composition will
demonstrate proficiency at ≥ C in writing an original composition.
