SAMPLE PROGRAM ASSESSMENT PLAN
Identify a Learning Outcome Students will demonstrate the ability to use their voices effectively and expressively in performance.
Determine an Assessment Method Student’s performance of a recitation will be evaluated by instructor on a 12 point rubric.
Establish a Benchmark 80% of the students will demonstrate good articulation and vocal projection in a public recitation at a skill level of ≥ 75% measure against a 12 point rubric.
Formulate an Implementation Timeline November, 1, 2010
Annually

Since the assessment of student learning is an on-going process, it is important to establish an implementation timeline which allows time for teaching and learning to occur. An implementation timeline refers to the process of identifying a date for reporting assessment data on a learning outcome. An assessment date includes the first day of a preselected month and a predetermined year. Additionally, a frequency is noted for each learning outcome-benchmark to indicate how often the assessment will take place. Even though program assessment is done annually, the frequency for assessing a given learning outcome-benchmark can range from a one-year-cycle to a four-year-cycle.

Examples of an implementation timeline include:

  • October 1, 2011 Annually
  • May 1, 2010 Bi-annually
