Transfer Students Take Note
OCC graduates are normally limited to 62 credits (the total
required for most associate degrees) when transferring to four-year colleges
or universities.
Some schools, such as Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU),
are willing to permit the transfer of additional credits into certain
programs. By terms of an articulation agreement between OCC and SVSU, OCC
students who want to become elementary teachers can apply up to 70 credits
towards a bachelor's degree in elementary education. Here's how the
agreement works.
Students transferring from OCC to SVSU are automatically
allowed to transfer with 62 credits. Once accepted to SVSU's College of
Education, they may transfer up to eight more. The total number of credits
required for a BA in elementary education from SVSU is 140 credits. Other
four-year schools have similar arrangements with OCC – check with an OCC
academic advisor for further information. | |
