Listening and Communication Skills II

Prerequisite: ESL 1410 or appropriate MTELP scores.

This course emphasizes the development of listening skills which focus on the ability to understand supporting examples and non-verbal information from academic lectures, television, and news broadcasts. Note taking and outlining will be introduced. Students will practice new vocabulary through recognizing context and learning the principles of word formation (roots,, suffixes, and syllabification). Appropriate communication for various audiences will be introduced through investigative activities in the course. Identified grammatical features will be reviewed. Course/lab fees.
