RO Children's Center Staff

Crystal Sanford-Brown (Coordinator)
I have served as the Coordinator of the Children’s Center at the Royal Oak campus since February 2005. With my vast early childhood work experiences, including parenting my three children, I have had an opportunity to work with families to facilitate programs that were instrumental in meeting their children’s diverse educational and emotional needs. I have a Master’s degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Community Development and an Associates degree in Early Childhood Development. I continue to believe that knowledge is powerful only if you utilize it, as each one teaches one.

Margaret Serdoner (Child Care Assistant)
I am married and have three children, four grandsons and two granddaughters. My family enjoys watching and playing hockey. I have obtained an Associates Degree in General Education from Oakland Community College, while I worked as a Work Study Student in The Children's Center in 1993. I still love being a part of the educational process of children.

Sunni Schirmer (Child Care Assistant)
I am currently enrolled at both Oakland Community College and Oakland University. I am working towards a degree in Elementary Education with minors in Language Arts and Social Studies. I adore animals and have been a practicing Vegan for a few years now. I also have a few odd pets including three mice and a turtle that I rescued from a poor environment. I have been a part of the OCC Royal Oak Children’s Center staff since January 2005 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to working with you and your child.
