General Description/Summary of Purpose:

With direction from a Group Leader or appropriate Supervisor, the Building Custodian performs
cleaning functions, furniture moving and adjustments, and other related custodial duties in
compliance with assigned safety and work standards and schedules.
Responsibilities and

Duties/Illustrative Tasks:

1. Cleans and maintains walls, ceilings, windows, floors, furniture and fixtures.
2. Maintains supplies, equipment and storage areas.
3. Collects and removes waste and trash from assigned areas.
4. Assembles and performs minor repairs and adjustments to fixtures, furnishings and furniture.
5. Collects and distributes supplies as assigned.
6. Maintains entrance ways (removes litter, sweeps and mops).
7. Performs hand shovel snow removal and spreads salt where needed.
8. Loads, unloads, and moves furniture and fixtures, including disassembling and assembling as required.
9. May direct student employees assigned to area consistent with the terms and conditions of the Master Labor Agreement.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
High school graduation or equivalent.

Abilities and Skills:
Ability to learn and to use accepted cleaning and maintenance practices.
Ability to follow written and oral directions correctly.

Licenses:
Current valid driver's license.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

- Experience with multi-cultural students and staff preferred.

- Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural diverse working environment.
