General Description/Summary of Purpose:
Works with campus faculty and staff to offer programs, activities and services to provide students social, cultural, recreational and developmental opportunities. Works to coordinate college-wide student life program and activities. Incumbent must work flexible hours dependent on activities scheduled. The Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of Student Services.Duties/Illustrative Tasks:
This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required.1. Oversee campus student activities planning and operations (e.g. prepare and monitor budget) and chair Campus Student Life Committee.
2. Coordinate the development and management of student organizations on campus (e.g. planning, organizing, conducting surveys, publicizing programs and events).
3. Serve as a liaison between student organizations, students, campus staff and the community.
4. Coordinate efforts with faculty, staff, students and external community to develop student life activities.
5. Promote student participation in cultural, recreational and social activities that support student growth and development.
6. Supervise staff assigned to assist in student life programs.
7. Assure that student life activities are consistently and appropriately represented in college-
wide marketing efforts (e.g. semester calendars, college-wide website, e-mailer, marquee,
etc.).
8. Coordinate appropriate representation at the student life college-wide meeting and ensure effective communication between the campus and college.
9. Review and assess all student life events utilizing appropriate assessment tools, to assist in determining future activities for students.
10. Coordinate program development based on campus needs and available resources.
11. Serve as a standing member of the college-wide Student Life Committee.
12. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, as needed.
13. Assist with the writing of grants, as needed.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required.AND
EXPERIENCE: Two years experience formulating organized programs, coordinating and organizing special activities and events, preferably in a college setting. Experience with multi-cultural students and staff preferred.
