You have the right to know:
- The financial assistance that is available at OCC, including
information on all federal, state, and institutional financial
aid programs.
- The application process and deadline for each of the available
financial aid programs.
- The cost of attendance and college policies on refunds
to students who withdraw.
- How OCC determined your financial aid eligibility.
- How much of your financial aid eligibility, as determined
by the institution, has been met.
- The various aid programs that have been offered in your
student aid package.
- What portion of the financial aid you received is loan and
must be repaid, and what portion is grants or work-study aid.
- How the university determined whether your are making satisfactory
academic progress and what happens if you are not.
- That all financial aid is subject to change or cancellation
due to changes in federal or state regulations, changes in circumstances
which affect student eligibility or availability of funds.

It is your responsibility to:
- Complete your application for student financial aid accurately
and submit it on time to the right place.
- Intentional misreporting of information on the FAFSA is
a violation of the law and considered a criminal offense subject
to penalties under the U.S. Criminal Code.
- Provide all additional documentation, information, verification
and corrections requested by Student Financial Resources.
- Read and understand all forms that you are asked to sign.
Keep copies of submitted documentation.
- Notify your lender of changes in your name, address or school
enrollment status if you have an educational loan.
- Perform in a satisfactory manner the work that is agreed
upon in a college work-study job.
- Know the deadlines for application or reapplication for
aid.
- Understand OCC’s refund and repayment for aid policies.
- Understand and comply with OCC’s Satisfactory Academic Progress
Policy.
- Obtain a summer job to help with expenses for the upcoming
school year.
- Keep your address current with the Registrar’s Office at
OCC.
