Scholarships and Book Funds

Each year, more than 100 scholarships are made available at OCC through private contributions. A list of currently available scholarships, criteria and a scholarship application are available through Financial Assistance and Scholarships.

Unrestricted Scholarship Support.
Gifts of any amount may be directed for unrestricted scholarship support. This fund allows the Foundation to direct scholarship funds where they are needed most in any given year.

Named Scholarships.
These are restricted scholarships that allow donors at certain gift levels to direct their scholarships for specific programs or purposes, and to name their funds. There are two levels of Named Scholarships:

• Annual Scholarships require a minimum gift of $1,000 and are awarded within the academic year in which they are contributed.
• Endowed Scholarships create an enduring legacy for the donor and a lasting source of financial support for OCC students. Endowed scholarships require a minimum gift of $10,000 which may be paid over a period of three years. The total accumulated gift is invested by the Foundation. A portion of the fund, including annual earned interest is awarded each year as a named scholarship. The remainder is reinvested with the interest-earning principle to build the fund. Additional gifts may be made to the principle at any time.
