MONEY CONCERNS?
Paying for a college education isn't easy. If you can’t get the necessary money (for tuition) out of your parents or the family budget, there’s always work, grants, loans or scholarships through the college. We can help with all of these. One thing that you should know is that at OCC we have tried hard to keep down the cost of a quality education. OCC is one of the few colleges in the state whose low tuition rate still qualifies for the state income tax credit. That’s because we’ve kept tuition increases at or below the rate of inflation for many years.

With support from both the state and county the tuition is low, typically one quarter to one half the cost of similar public or private higher educational institutions. The tuition that you pay when you register is based on the number of credit hours taken, times the cost per credit hour, plus any fees (for example, some courses with lab components have additional fees).
Tuition is different for in-county residents, state residents and out of state residents. So it’s important when you apply to give us a copy of your driver’s license or other proof of residency so that the college can determine your residency status and give you the best possible tuition rate.
In addition to tuition and fees each student is expected to purchase textbooks and supplies. For students who qualify, the college offers financial help by providing Financial Aid and Scholarships. The links to the right will give you some help and guidance. The ‘Tuition Impossible?’ link lists several sources of financial help.
