Global Education

As our world continues to shrink, it is increasingly imperative that OCC students develop an awareness of and appreciation for their place and role in the larger global community. Therefore, a top priority of the College is to ensure students understand global dynamics by providing relevant educational experiences that address the relationships of people, cultures, and nations in an interconnected world. OCC is expanding global horizons by:

• Including global components in many OCC courses.
• Encouraging international students to attend OCC and lend a global perspective to classroom discussions and student interactions. Currently, OCC has about 800 international students.
• OCC has study abroad opportunities and connections around the world.
• Oakland County and the Greater Detroit Metropolitan Area provide a wide array of opportunities that enrich the lives of our students.
• The Global Education Website provides information about cultural events that occur throughout the year.
