Mariachi Night - Rescheduled for October 24th 2008 at the Royal Oak Theater

Mariachi Especial, “Alma de Mexico” (Soul of Mexico), is a performing group organized in 1960 by the Hernandez brothers. The family was originally from Jalisco, Mexico, the birth place of Mariachi music, but the brothers moved to the United States and have been in the Detroit area for more than 45 years.

Today, Mariachi Especial is one of the most sought after performing groups of its kind. They have been featured at numerous colleges and universities, and have entertained countless audiences with their skill and precision on the vihuela, guitarra de golpe, guitarron, violin, and trumpet. Their costumes, music, and song capture the essence of Mexico and create an unforgettable experience for young and old alike.
