English Language Proficiency Requirements
The College requires a demonstration
of language skill on a standardized language proficiency test before permitting international student to take academic classes.
- Students applying from outside of the United States are required to take the TOEFL for admission to OCC. The Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency
(MTELP) will be administered upon arrival.
- After you arrive in the U.S. you must take the MTELP (Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency).
- The College uses your MTELP score to determine whether or not you will need to take ESL courses.
