The World Is Flat!

If you haven’t read Thomas L. Friedman’s book, “The World is Flat,” you probably wonder why we chose it as our Student LIFE theme for 2006-07. In “The World is Flat,” Friedman examines career opportunities for future generations and writes about life’s inevitable: Change.

It isn’t always easy to stay on top of the world around us when, like most people, we’re struggling to balance life with family, friends, school and work, but the key to a successful future is education. We hope you will take advantage of the many opportunities available to you at OCC. Whether you are taking one class or two or more, you’ve already taken responsibility for your future.

Your future is important to us also. At Oakland Community College, we not only want you to succeed, we want you to S.O.A.R. (Student’s Opportunities and Responsibilities).
