Social Responsibility
Social Responsibility Learning Outcome Statement:
Graduates understand the rights, responsibilities and privileges necessary to become informed participating community members.
The faculty of Oakland Community College have defined four dimensions (learning outcomes) of the Social Responsibility General Education outcome to clarify learning expectations for our students. They include:
- Self and community
- Diversity
- Integrity
- Negotiate and Compromise
These learning outcomes have been further defined within the Social Responsibility evaluation rubric.
Social Responsibility Professional Learning Community (PLC)
The Social Responsibility PLC provides members an opportunity to exchange ideas, techniques and perspectives related to teaching and learning on a topic of common interest which transcend traditional department/discipline boundaries. All OCC full-time as well as adjunct faculty, administration and support staff with a common interest in enhancing student learning are invited to join the PLC. Becoming an active member gives you an opportunity to engage in discussions where issues of teaching and learning can be openly discussed and shared in a professional forum.
