Community Services
Oakland Community College offers a comprehensive program of community services including cultural, recreational, and lifelong learning activities which
respond to the needs of residents. OCC believes that a community college must be an integral part of its community, responsive to its needs, and a catalyst
in the solution of its problems. Community services at the College are decentralized to facilitate the active involvement of the total college with
the community. Each campus serves as a hub of cultural and educational activities for its sphere of influence.
F.S.A. (International Student Advisors)
Oakland Community College is committed to providing the support and services necessary to help students adjust to the community and establish
proficiency in English. International Student Advisors are available to assist international students with immigration issues, conversion to F-1 status,
special orientation student admissions. Visit International Students website for more information.

Recruiters:
Available to visit your school or business with information about Oakland Community College's programs.
Veterans Benefits Recipients:
All veterans wishing to take advantage of V.A. benefits should complete admission and registration forms in consultation with the V.A. representative
located at the Auburn Hills Campus, building B, room 227, phone 248-232-4342. OCC does not participate in the V.A. Advance Payment Program, therefore,
all VA recipients are responsible for the payment of tuition and fee charges.
Those eligible for V.A. benefits are reminded that there is often considerable delay between the time benefits are requested and when checks begin to
arrive. It is necessary, therefore, to make financial arrangements in order to prevent financial difficulty during the intervening period before checks
commence. Please call the Veterans Advisor at Auburn Hills for further details.

Womencenter:
The Womencenter is located at the Orchard Ridge Campus of OCC in J building, room 309. Our phone number is (248) 522-3642.
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Womencenter is a college facility providing educational and supportive resources for area women. Our purpose is to help empower women through the
development of educational and supportive programs for campus and community women that promote growth in both personal and political awareness. We help
women identify their personal and social needs and assist them in developing the skills to meet them through education and participation. Our programs
tale the form of workshops, support groups, seminars, peer counseling and information and referral services. We offer a book group, a legal clinic,
host an annual women's conference and produce an annual juried art exhibit. Our groups and seminars cover topics including self esteem, self defense,
relationship issues, divorce, assertiveness, stress management and money management.
We offer scholarship money to women students attending OCC. We have a small lending library, a file of written materials on women's issues, information
on numerous topics via handouts and information on area agencies and resources.
We have existed at the College for over 30 years.
Although our program is designed primarily to address the concerns of women, some of our services are open and available to all members of the campus
and community.
