Opening Course Content as Links
Sometimes
course content opens automatically on your screen and sometimes you will
be required to access a file by clicking on a link.
If your instructor
has attached a file, the file will appear as a link. In this case, you would click on the linked
file to download/access the file.
Depending on your
computer, how the file was linked, and the type of file, several things
may happen when you click on a link:
- The link
may open within the browser window.
- The link
may open a new browser window.
- The link
may prompt you with a dialog box, asking if you want to save the file
to a local drive.
- The link
may launch a different program (such as Microsoft Word or PowerPoint
or Acrobat Reader) in order to display the file - In this case, you
must have the different program loaded on your computer. For some of
the programs, there are free viewer available for download. See the
table below:
