Your left navigation panel is your gateway to accessing information in Blackboard.
- Button based navigation - Your navigation panel could be in the form of buttons each taking you to a specific area within Blackboard.
- Text based navigation - Your navigation panel could also have text links that take you to different areas within Blackboard.
Your instructor may customize the left navigation panel to best suit his/her course requirements.

- To expand and collapse the left navigation panel, you can click on the 'Red Arrow' icon at the top left corner of the navigation panel.
Helpful Tip: Once you are in your course, you will click through various levels of your course. A quick way to tell where you are in your course navigation, is to take a look at the 'breadcrumbs' feature in Blackboard. 'Breadcrumbs' are a trail of where you are in your course. You can find the 'breadcrumbs' at the top of every page.
