The Chatroom is a place
where synchronous communication takes place. This means that the
conversation is taking place in real time. There are five types of chatrooms
in Educator:
- General Course Chat
- Moderated Chat
- Temporary Chat
- Group Chat
- Private One-to-One Chat
To access the Chatroom,
click on the
Communication link on the left side of your screen. Next, click on
the Chatroom sublink.
The Chatroom is broken up
into panels.
The Navigation Panel is located in the left side of the
screen when in the default position, and contains the Main Links
The Chat Speaking Area is located in the top left panel
which contains the text box and refresh options
The Content Area that is displayed in the panel on the right
side of the screen and contains the text, images, tables and
other "content" pushed to the Chatroom
The List of Chatrooms is located in the bottom panel of the
screen just to the right of the Navigation Panel when in the
default position.
