New Student Checklist for Non-Native Speakers of English

• Fill out application and turn in with proper identification and necessary paperwork to Enrollment Services.  General questions can be directed to (248) 341-2200. 

• Make an appointment to fill out MTELP Intake Form and take Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency [MTELP] and math placement test with the ESL Paraprofessional,   (248) 232-4435.

• Students with MTELP scores 66-100 may choose to take the Writing Sample following the MTELP.  The ESL Paraprofessional will contact the students with the results.

All students must meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for classes.

• Meet with an Academic Advisor to schedule classes.

• All students should see an Academic Advisor in the Counseling Department (248) 232-4350 or in the PASS Office (248) 232-4080.  Call to make an appointment with Doug Riddering, Alicia Paramo-Dionne, Rhonda Gaines or Pat Nowaczynski.
