Coordinator's Corner...

Fall 2007

Members of the club are presently working on a Wellness website page for the Auburn Hills Campus.  Seven topics were selected (physical, social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, occupational, personal finance) and they are currently in the process of selecting credible website links plus local resources.  If you have any suggestions, go to the club site on Yahoo and submit them to Darla, Club President.  Directions for locating the club can be found below.

Students wishing to complete an internship during the Winter 2008 semester should attend the internship meetings on Nov 3rd and Dec 1st, 2007.  The meetings are at HL, SC-109, from 9:30am - 11am.  Bring a draft copy of your cover letter and resume in November.  By the December meeting these documents should be in final form for your site interview.  You should be ready to start the internship in January, 2008.

Welcome to the EXS Student Club site.  It is a student-driven venture to build community within the Exercise Science program.  The purpose of the club is to bring students and alumni together for various activities.  These activities may include mentoring, discussion of new techniques, and community service.

This website will post club meetings minutes, job postings, and a calendar of professional events.  Opportunities to volunteer at Health Fairs and Career Day forums as well as student articles will be listed.  The Coordinator Corner section will also post updates on college policy, curriculum changes, internships, etc.

The students club has recently started a more interactive forum at yahoo groups.  Here they will share ideas, resources, job tips, etc on a daily basis.  To join, go to www.yahoo.com and click on Groups.  Search for the ExerciseScienceStudentClub (no spaces) and click in the “Join Now” box.  All membership materials will appear.

We hope you will find this site useful.  Please use the information under Contact Us to submit questions and comments.

Thank you,

Dr. Barbara Konopka
