Welcome to OCC Libraries Tutorials

OCC Libraries offer many resources to assist you in research for your courses--from books, scholarly journals, and government documents, to electronic databases of articles and Internet guides.  These tutorials are designed to help you learn to use library and internet resources effectively.

bullet

Finding Articles: How to find solid, scholarly articles for your OCC research.

bullet

Evaluating the Web: How to tell the good from the bad from the ugly on the World Wide Web.

bullet

Effective Searching on the Web: There are search engines, and then there are subject directories.  This tutorial takes you BEYOND Google.

You don't have to complete a tutorial in one sitting. You may interrupt it at any time and return to it later.  Just make note of the spot in the tutorial's table of contents where you stop, and return to it later.

Taking the TutorialYou can also learn a great deal that will help you in your OCC classes if you review an introduction to OCC Libraries.  It will open in a new window so that you may feel free to explore.  After you're done, close that window and you will automatically return here.
