The complete
electronic text of an article is called the full text. Some
databases, like General OneFile and CQ Researcher,
provide entire articles online. The Library's title list of databases
has descriptions that indicate whether a database includes full text
or some full text.
Do
online research databases that provide full text also include images
that were published in the article's paper format?
Yes, there are a
few databases—General
OneFile, for example—that
provide full content. Full content includes the article plus
any graphs, charts, pictures and text. If the database vendor does not
have the right to reproduce images with the full text, you will see a
statement like "the photograph of dna cells is omitted." |
