In the Spotlight:

New “MultiSearch” allows you to find books and articles in a single search!
Attention Students:
- Do you want to save time doing research?
- Do you want to find quality information in a short time?
- Do you want to be able to search for books AND articles from newspapers/magazines/journals in just one search?
Once you are on the MultiSearch page, you can enter up to 3 search terms, apply limits if you choose (dates, full-text, peer-reviewed), choose from 8 categories (such as Art or Business), include the Library Catalog in the search, and search across 50 of the library’s databases.
For example, if you are writing a paper on “same sex marriage”, you might search for the subject “same sex marriage”, limit the publication dates to the years 2007 to 2008, limit to full-text and peer-reviewed articles, choose the “General” category, and include the Library Catalog in the search. MultiSearch returns a relevant list of resources including both books and published articles. You are well on your way to finding quality information on your subject!
Plan on adding MultiSearch to your “research toolbox.” The next time you have a research assignment, try MultiSearch. As always, if you have questions about how to use MultiSearch or any of the other search tools on the Library’s website, don’t hesitate to ask for help in person, over the phone, by email or via our chat service, Research Help Now. This is your Library—make the most of it!
