Acclaimed Deaf Dancer Bertram Weston Returns to OCC for Several Events in February
Dancer
Bertram Weston returns to perform his acclaimed program, “I Believe I Can Fly,”
at two Deaf
since childhood, Mr. Weston developed his unique presentations as a way to
raise public awareness of deaf culture and make people more comfortable in
communicating with the deaf. His
performances use signing and dance to tell stories of life, live and
happiness. The program also features a
patriotic component – he honors the police, firemen and thousands of others who
lost their lives in the tragedy of A
professional dancer, Mr. Weston moves and signs his songs in a manner that
amazes family audiences as they realize that they can understand his message
with no previous knowledge of signing. Mr.
Weston will perform on Thursday, February 17 at OCC’s Highland Lakes Campus in General
admission for either performance is $15 – students and seniors pay $13. Both shows begin at Mr.
Weston will also offer two master signing performance workshops on Tuesday,
February 22, one at the Highland Lakes Campus Student Center Arena from For
