Oakland Community College’s Culinary Studies Institute presents its 12^th annual Great Lakes Wine Event Thursday, June 7, at the Orchard Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills.

Starting at 6:00 p.m., the two-and-a-half hour program will present products of vineyards from throughout the Great Lakes region including Michigan, Canada, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and New York.  Specialty dishes from top area restaurants and country clubs will also be featured.

Professional judges will taste and appraise each of 500 entries, which will then be available for event participants to sample.  Entertainment will be provided by the acclaimed Sheila Landis Trio.

Admission to the Great Lakes Wine Event is $45 per person.  Proceeds go toward scholarships, and to provide travel funds for OCC’s gold-medal winning student culinary team to participate in the American Culinary Federation’s national competition in Florida this July.
