Programs for Academic Support Services (PASS)
Students With Disabilities
The PASS program provides accommodations and/or services to students
with a documented disability who have been diagnosed by a qualified, licensed
professional who warrants the individuals’ needs for accommodations as required
by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (PL 93-112).
Students in need of special assistance should contact the campus Academic
Support Coordinator in the PASS Office at their home campus
Application Procedure
- Complete an OCC
Application
for Admission.
- Make an appointment with the PASS coordinator on your campus.
- Intake and Educational/Employability Development Plan (EEDP) completed
with coordinator. Bring your documentation to this meeting. Accommodations
are assessed for classes. File established.
- Make an appointment with a counselor to plan you next semesters
classes.

Register for classes on the web, by TOUCH*TONE, or in person at
scheduled time.
- Notification of accommodations sent by PASS to instructor.
- Tutor assigned if eligible and /or referral made to appropriate
department.
PASS services, such as sign language interpreters, note takers, readers, recorded materials, tutors, learning station modification, and special instructional equipment are provided as necessary for students with special needs to realize academic success.
The counseling department at OCC provides PASS Eligible students with comprehensive counseling services at each campus. Counselors are available to assist students in the development of decision-making skills that will enable them to establish and attain appropriate educational, career and personal/social goals.
There is a PASS Coordinator available at
every campus to assist all students with their accommodations and services.
The Coordinator is the contact person between the student, faculty
and external agencies.
