Reserve Training
The purpose of the 120 hour Reserve Officer Training Course is to acquaint trainees with the skills and knowledge needed to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Police Reserve Officer. Trainees for this program are only admitted to the class as a sponsored student based upon the recommendation of the Chief or Director of a police agency. Trainees are subject to the rules and regulations of the Oakland Police Academy during the training sessions.

* Note Taking and Report Writing * OWI Enforcement * First Aid Techniques * Traffic Direction & Control * Firearms Training * Defensive Tactics * Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs |
Trainees must provide appropriate sidearm and leather gear.
The next Reserve Officer Training Course will be held January 13 through April 5, 2010. Interested candidates for the Winter 2010 Session must be recommended for sponsorship and should contact a police agency that has a Police Reserve unit prior to enrolling in this program.
