K-9 Training
The Oakland Police Academy began training police
canine teams in the spring of 1998. This unique, academy structured program is the first of its kind in Michigan. Veteran police canine trainers
and handlers offer an unparalleled level of proficiency and experience to prospective police agencies.
Top quality pre-trained dogs are offered for both the Narcotic and Patrol Dog Academies. This allows the academy to provide each trainee with the necessary equipment and skills needed to become an affective canine handler and a valuable resource to their department.
