Officer Information Duties

President:

  1. Preside over all chapter meetings
  2. Appoint and establish any necessary committees
  3. Vote only in the case of a tie
  4. Serve as an ex-officio member on all committees
  5. Present business to the chapter
  6. Represent the organization at all times
  7. Appoint a committee to review and/or revise the chapter’s constitution annually
  8. Appoint an interim officer in the case of a resignation, who will serve in that capacity until elections can be held to fill the vacancy.
  9. Plan and organize New member orientation and induction ceremonies.

Vice President of Leadership:

  1. Head the committee in charge of recycling and book donations.
  2. Preside over the chapter meetings in the absence of the President
  3. Encourage the development of leadership skills
  4. Coordinate completion of the Hallmark Awards applications that are due in December each year

Vice President of Service:

  1. Plan and organize Service Hallmark events.
  2. Develop activities that promote volunteerism and community service.
  3. Coordinate the preparation of the Service Hallmark Award entry.

Vice President of Fellowship:

  1. Encourage scholarly fellowship at all levels of the Society
  2. Implement strategies to increase membership acceptance
  3. Enroll the chapter in the Pinnacle Scholarship Award Program
  4. Maintain the chapter’s enhanced member participation program

Vice President of Scholarship:

  1. Oversee all Honors Study Topic activities
  2. Coordinate the chapter’s participation in the Honors Satellite Seminars
  3. Encourage and recognize academic excellence
  4. Provide guidance to members seeking scholarships through PTK
  5. Coordinate the preparation of the Scholarship Hallmark Award entry

Recording Secretary:

  1. Take and present minutes at each chapter meeting
  2. Maintain the chapter calendar of events
  3. E-mail typed version of Meeting Minutes to officers

Treasurer:

  1. Maintain a financial account for the chapter in the Business Office
  2. Keep a set of financial records to be audited at the end of the officer term
  3. Prepare financial report in December and May for officers, presenting the current status of chapter funds.
  4. File all financial records in the chapter’s official files at the end of each academic term
  5. Verify that all fundraising money has been deposited in the Business office and that all expenses are recorded from Request Check Forms.
  6. Request a monthly statement of transactions from the Business Office

Communication Director:

  1. Promote the chapter at all levels of the Society
  2. Make sure important messages from officers are passed on to all current members through e-mail.
  3. Maintain and update the chapter website as needed
  4. Update PTK display in Woodland Hall (near room 110) at least monthly
