Children's Centers

Regulation Regarding Children On-Campus

Out of consideration for the learning process of others, students, staff and visitors are not permitted to have children accompany them into college classrooms, laboratories, studios or libraries whether the children are supervised or not. The only exceptions are prearranged tours, field trips or college coordinated programs for children.

Students, staff, and visitors are not permitted to leave minor children unattended on college property and/or in campus buildings. Children are welcome to visit the campus, but they must be supervised by adults at all times. The college does not assume responsibility for the safety of children left unattended.

Oakland Community College has fully-licensed, fully-staffed Children's Centers to meet the needs of student-parents and guardians; they are encouraged to register their children or minor dependents at a Children's Center. Please call a Children's Center for information about registration, fees, age limits and hours of operation.

Campus Children's Centers

The Oakland Community College campuses have licensed, on-site child care facilities. This service is available to all Oakland Community College students who attend classes on our campuses and to all employees of the college. These centers are staffed with degreed coordinators and trained care givers and offer a wide range of experiences for the attending children. Contact your individual campus for questions concerning hours, age requirements and fees. A brochure is available upon request at the individual centers or the Counseling Departments.
