 The Womencenter's national annual women's juried art show, From Our Perspectives: A National Women's Art Exhibition, will be held September 27 - October 26, 2012 in the Smith Theatre Gallery at Oakland Community College's Orchard Ridge Campus. Gilda Snowden, our 2010 juror, had this to say about the show: It has been my pleasure to be the juror of this very important national exhibition, and see the works of so many talented women from around the country. By experimenting with the physical properties of their chosen media, these artists have brought to the fore dynamic representations of style, color, composition and innuendo. By taking chances with these materials and marrying them to compelling narratives, they have created works that are concretely tangible, indicative of soaring imaginations, and in many cases have the quality of being wonderfully mysterious.
