Oakland Community College
OCC Celebrates Founders Day - March 19, 2014

COMMUNITY SERVICE IS THE KEY THEME OF NEW OCC FOUNDERS DAY CELEBRATION
With the theme "A Tradition of Excellence," OCC will observe its second annual Founders Day celebration on Wednesday, March 19. The purpose of the event is to honor the public spirit and contributions of those who established the college and set it on the path to the success it enjoys today. The commitment to community held by the college’s founders still resonates after nearly 50 years - community is still our middle name.

A major feature of the month-long celebration is a call to community service for students and employees. Participants who complete a set number of service hours will be recognized and become part of the "Founders Service Club."
