Administrative Support Technology

The Administrative Support Technology program is designed to provide a well-rounded education in the skills and knowledge required of administrative professionals in today’s competitive global marketplace.

As the reliance on technology continues to expand in the workplace, the role of the administrative professional continues to evolve. Increased technology and organizational restructuring have led secretaries and administrative assistants to assume responsibilities once reserved for managerial and professional staff.

Administrative support is one of the largest occupations in the U.S. and is vital to the information flow within any organization.

OCC's comprehensive program teaches the communication skills required for planning conferences, working with clients, transmitting staff instructions, and the technology skills needed in today's automated office environment.

Students are engaged in and learn a myriad of skills: Document production, desktop publishing, internet research, creating and giving presentations, event planning, project management and web page development.

Sample courses in this program:

  • Desktop Publishing
  • Legal Office Environment and Documentation
  • Human Relations and Organizational Behavior
  • Principles of Management
  • Personal Computer Applications

"The OCC program taught me to strive to be the best! The opportunity to have one-on-one time with my teachers was crucial to retain the material. I learned how to efficiently make use of my time as well as many software programs that I utilize every day at work! After graduation, I knew I had the skills to complete ANY business related task that could arise. It’s breathtaking to say that because of the program I am an asset to my organization!
