Associate in Applied Science (MET.AAS)

   This program leads to an associate in applied science degree. The program provides the career training necessary to transcribe physician’s dictated reports for medical records used in courts, insurance companies, hospitals, governmental agencies and other medical related businesses. The importance of medical records continues to grow rapidly due to increased demand for clinical data necessary for research on diseases, the use of new drugs and other methods of treatment.

Requirements for acceptance to the program include an interview with the program coordinator to develop a plan of study.

1 Prerequisites are not required for MET.AAS students, however, HPT 2210 must be completed before taking BIS 2464.
* When all the courses marked with an asterisk are completed along with 9 credits of approved supportive courses, the student may apply for a certificate.
