Medical Assisting

   The Medical Assisting Program (MDA) offers numerous program options including a 1-year certificate program, 2-year Associate Degree program or individual certificates of achievement. Each option allows students marketable skills in many health care professions.

Program Highlights:

  • Part-time or Full-time course loads
  • No selection process for Certificates of Achievements
  • Selection is required at the point of Practicum placements for the Medical Assisting Certificate (MDA.CT) or the Associate in Applied Science (MDA.AAS)
  • Students must attend a Medical Assisting Orientation Session and pass a mandatory criminal background check prior to registration into all MDA courses (except MDA 1350)

Medical Assisting Orientation Dates:

Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 1 - 3 pm

Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 1 - 3 pm

Student Center Arena, Highland Lakes Campus
Pre-registration is not required.

With additional education, medical assistants may move into other allied health occupations such as Physician's assistant, health care administration and technical education.
