The purpose of the 120-hour Reserve Officer Training Course is to acquaint trainees with the skills and knowledge needed to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Police Reserve Officer. Trainees for this program are only admitted to the class as a sponsored student based upon the recommendation of the Chief or Director of a police agency. Trainees are subject to the rules and regulations of the Oakland Police Academy during the training sessions. The next Reserve Officer training session will be from September 9 - December 5, 2015. Trainees must provide appropriate sidearm and leather gear.
The Reserve Officer Training Course is currently in session. Interested candidates will only be admitted after a written recommendation has been received from a Chief, Director or Sheriff of a law enforcement agency, and will be subject to the rules and regulations of the Oakland Police Academy.
