ACT WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performance workforce. This series of tests measures foundational and soft skills and offers specialized assessments to target institutional needs.

Paraprofessional Battery:

You will get a copy of your Math and Reading test score at the end of testing.
You will receive your Writing test score within three weeks of testing.

Oakland Community College’s Nursing program requires their applicants to take the HESI Entrance exam. To be eligible for the nursing program, you must achieve a minimum composite score of 75% on each section, achieved within the same testing session. Your score will be available at the end of the exam. Please KEEP a copy of your scores for your personal records.

Health Education Systems publishes a guide to help you prepare for the exam. You may purchase the HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review from OCC's Highland Lakes, or Southfield campus bookstores.

The exam consists of the following assessments:

  • Reading Comprehension

Test Fee: $65.00 (The NON-REFUNDABLE testing fee must be paid at the time of registration)

We offer testing services for students of other colleges and universities, individuals, businesses and industry, and groups. We administer both traditional (paper/pencil) and online tests. Arrangements must be made in advance, at least one week prior to the test date. Please call 248.232.4168 to see if your exams have arrived before you come in to test.

Our Testing Center provides the best possible environment for testing. Our center is secure, we are away from the main campus hustle, we have ample parking and we have video monitoring of the testing area.

The TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is administered via the Internet. The test measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. And it evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks.

TOEFL Assessments consist of 4 exams:

  • Speaking
  • Writing

Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers are privately owned, third-party testing facilities which provide on-site, on-demand testing for certification and professional licensure exams.

To schedule a test:

Visit www.pearsonvue.com/programs and select the relevant test program from the Test Taker Services section. Next, select 'Schedule a Test' and complete the necessary fields. Upon confirming the booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Pearson VUE. At a minimum, this confirmation will contain information such as the time, date and location of your test, including directions to the test center. Alternately, you may also call 248.232.4171 to schedule your test at MTEC Testing Center.

Arriving at the PVTC and Check-In:

Typically, you are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. The amount of time you are asked to arrive at the center before your scheduled appointment time differs for each program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.

When candidates arrive for an exam, they go through a standard admissions process. Candidates are asked to provide two forms of identification, to agree in writing to a set of exam rules and to sign a log sheet. In most cases, your photo and signature will be digitally captured as they would appear on your results report. Some exam sponsors may have other identification or check-in requirements.
