Program Title: Business Systems Analysis
Program Description: The Computer Information Systems (CIS) associate degrees are designed for students who need general education (e.g., communication, science, mathematics, fine arts, social science) combined with a solid foundation in the fundamental computer skills that are generally required to design, create, and test software, or analyze business system requirements and design solutions, or support and protect the operation of technology resources. These fundamental computer skills are commonly required by most four-year educational programs that offer the types of bachelor degrees most employers look for when hiring information technology professionals. All CIS courses use current computer tools and place an emphasis on practical application to provide a relevant learning environment.

Program Title: Medical Assisting
Program Description: Students may expand on their Medical Assisting Certificate (MDA.CT) credential by further completion of required supportive courses for an Associate in Applied Science degree (MDA.AAS.) The associate degree provides an opportunity for progression in related health care careers and degrees beyond the associate degree level. A mandatory Medical Assisting orientation (current within two years) is required of all students entering any Medical Assisting program. Additionally, a criminal history check will be conducted on all students prior to the start of the program, at the student's expense. Conviction of a felony or conviction of any attempt to commit a felony within the 15 years immediately preceding the date of the criminal history check; or Conviction of a misdemeanor within the 10 years immediately preceding the criminal history check, and/or a positive drug screen will preclude eligibility for admission. Selection into the Practicum portion of the Medical Assisting program is done at the point of placement through an application process. Details are provided in the Medical Assisting Student Handbook. Selected students will be notified prior to placement. In order to be eligible for Practicum placement students must also obtain the following: A grade of a “C” (2.0) or better in all major program requirements. A current CPR card at health care provider or professional provider level. A current First Aid card. A current health history and physical exam with appropriate immunization documentation. A negative drug screen test immediately prior to the start of practicum courses. Application for Practicum placement is due the semester prior to Practicum. Selected students will be notified prior to placement. The policies and regulations regarding progression and retention in all Medical Assisting Programs, as well as certification requirements, are outlined in the Medical Assisting Student Handbook which is provided to each student attending the mandatory orientation.

Program Title: Mgt Development - Hospitality
Program Description: This program, leading to an Associate in Applied Science Degree, is designed to develop skills and knowledge essential for employment in the Hospitality Industry to include food and beverage operations, guest services, sales and event planning. The program provides courses in sanitation certification, wine and spirits, front office operations, event planning, financial analysis and leadership management. The student will acquire practical experience in their coursework by performing hands on skills at multiple levels in our on campus restaurants, and special events. Students will experience special event planning first hand as student manager planning special events for the public. Student will visit hospitality venues and complete an internship within a hospitality operation best related to their career path of choice. The Hospitality graduates career can lead to management positions in their hospitality field of choice with acquired industry experience and attaining higher education and/or certification that may be required.
Program Title: Technological Sciences
Program Description: The Associate in Technological Sciences Degree program is designed for students choosing to pursue widely varying areas of occupational, technological, engineering, and emerging sector-related interests. This degree is also designed for career-minded students, yet includes flexibility to meet the Michigan Transfer Agreement for students wishing to continue their education with one of our many 4-year partner institutions. See a counselor for courses that may be required at the college you plan to attend. A minimum of sixteen credit hours in the primary occupational discipline of your choice, plus nineteen credits of fundamental General Education leaves you with twenty-seven elective credits (14 required) to design your future. Graduating from this program does not automatically qualify the student for the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) endorsement. Students in this program seeking MTA endorsement should work closely with an OCC counselor to identify classes from the MTA List which apply to the endorsement and to degree requirements.
