Program Title: Web Designer Certificate

Program Description: The Web Designer Certificate is designed to provide a strong foundation for the design and format of client-side Web content. The creation of Web content for presentation and user interaction requires visual communication skills that incorporate a wide variety of media content types as well as expertise with markup languages, scripting languages, and the functional capabilities of various user devices. Content created by the Web designer must effectively engage all types of users and provide a rich canvas on which all Internet content is displayed.


Program Title: Digital Media Communications

Program Description: Given the changing dynamics of communication in this digital age, this certificate program will introduce students to the new theories surrounding digital persuasion. It offers students instruction in communication, advertising, and the creation of digital images. The program offers professional and technical experiences in persuasion, graphic design, digital imaging, and business concepts to prepare students for careers in digital communication. Organizations across all realms depend on online visibility and targeted client interactions. New positions requiring focused skills in digital communication are being created within private and public sector organizations. This certificate will offer students experience in these critical aptitudes and is intended for individuals who desire entry-level employment in the field of digital communication and persuasion.


Program Title: Radiologic Technology Applicant

Program Description: The Radiologic Technology program leads to an associate in applied science degree and is designated as an extended degree program in that students must complete a minimum of 73 or more required credit hours. The program prepares selected individuals through theory and clinical experiences to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in a variety of health care settings. Successful completion of the program requirements qualifies the student to apply to write the national credential examination offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Satisfactory achievement on this examination qualifies the graduate to practice as a Registered Radiologic Technologist, R .T. (R). Registered Radiologic Technologists who do not have a college degree may enroll in the required supportive and general education courses as outlined in the college catalog. Applicants will be granted a degree upon successful completion of the requirements. The course of study combines general education in the humanities, biological and behavioral sciences with instruction in the theory and practice of radiologic technology. Program Admission Procedures Students must first be admitted to the college and must designate radiologic technology (RAL.APP) as their curriculum. Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to the Radiologic Technology program. Each year, a limited number of students are admitted through a selection procedure. Basic admission requirements include: High school diploma or completion of GED Declaration of Radiologic Technology as the designated curriculum choice. Completion of all required supportive courses with a grade of “B” or higher. Completion of General Education requirements with a grade of “B” or higher. Attendance at a record review session -March. Students who are eligible for the program are notified in writing no later than May 1. All requirements and procedures for admission as outlined in the Radiologic Technology information sessions must be completed by April 30 of the year in which the student is intended to enroll in the program. In order to be eligible to take the national credential examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, students must successfully complete all requirements of the program. The Radiologic Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). A mandatory criminal history check with fingerprinting and drug screening will be conducted on all students selected to the Radiologic Technology program, prior to the start of the program, at the student's expense. Conviction of a felony or conviction of any attempt to commit a felony within the 15 years immediately preceding the date of the criminal history check; or Conviction of a misdemeanor within the 10 years immediately preceding the criminal history check, and/or a positive drug screen will preclude eligibility for admission. In addition to the regular tuition, Radiography students incur extra costs including, but not limited to; liability insurance, health examination, uniforms, supplies, required vaccinations, travel, registry application and certification fees. Program Description: The Associate in Technological Sciences Degree program is designed for students choosing to pursue widely varying areas of occupational, technological, engineering, and emerging sector-related interests. This degree is also designed for career-minded students, yet includes flexibility to meet the Michigan Transfer Agreement for students wishing to continue their education with one of our many 4-year partner institutions. See a counselor for courses that may be required at the college you plan to attend. A minimum of sixteen credit hours in the primary occupational discipline of your choice, plus nineteen credits of fundamental General Education leaves you with twenty-seven elective credits (14 required) to design your future. Graduating from this program does not automatically qualify the student for the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) endorsement. Students in this program seeking MTA endorsement should work closely with an OCC counselor to identify classes from the MTA List which apply to the endorsement and to degree requirements.
