Chancellor’s Scholarships Information

OAKLAND COUNTY ALL STARS

$200,000 to eligible students in Oakland County!    (Information updated December 2022)

These scholarships are awarded county-wide to talented all-star students in one of the following:

  • Public, private, charter, and home schooled programs with a minimum GPA of 3.0 
  • Adult/Alternative public or private high school with a GPA of 2.5

The award is for $4,000 ($2,000 for the fall semester and $2,000 for the winter semester), is non-renewable, and is good only for the first academic year following the student's high school graduation.

Recipients must attend Oakland Community College at least, full-time (12 credit hours minimum) for both fall and winter semesters. If the student does not attend classes, the scholarship is forfeited.

You will utilize the College’s Student Online, Scholarship Universe site to submit your application. This is the College’s web-based scholarship application system. OCC students must use this site to apply for scholarships.

How to log into OCC's Scholarship Universe?

  • Go to Scholarship Universe.
  • Select the “Sign-In” button and then Sign-in with your OCC username (ex: doe.jane) and OCC password. You must have successfully applied to Oakland Community College and have a OCC student ID and email to access Scholarship Universe.
  • Upon successful login users will begin with their dashboard.
  • To navigate to the scholarship screen, select Scholarships at the left  side of your student dashboard.
  • If the Chancellor's Scholarship is not listed, use the search option on the upper right side and search for the Chancellor's Scholarship.
  • IMPORTANT: Be sure to read over the questions carefully, because this will be used to determine your eligibility for this scholarship.

To apply online for the Chancellor's Scholarship, you must first complete the OCC admission application and then complete the OCC Student Online Scholarships (SOS) Application using Scholarship Universe.

“Oakland Community College scholarships are offered to currently-enrolled OCC students without regard to race, gender, gender identity, color, ethnicity or national origin, regardless of the scholarship’s title. For example, scholarships sponsored by women’s organizations are offered without a preference or restriction based on sex, are open to all genders, and are awarded without regard to the sex of the applicant.”

Scholarship Application Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be an Oakland County resident and a 2023 graduate of a public, private, charter or homeschool. Homeschools must be connected with an association.
  • Must have an Oakland Community College admission application on file. Apply for admission prior to submitting your scholarship application. Include your Social Security Number on your OCC admission application.
  • Must include an official high school transcript showing fall 2022 first-quarter/semester grades and cumulative (non-weighted) GPA with scholarship application. High school, charter, and homeschool applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Must take the OCC English placement (self-directed through your MyOCC account).
  • Public and private high school, charter, and homeschool students must place into English 1510 or higher.
  • Placement Testing in English
  • Must declare a major, enroll for at least 12 credit hours for both fall, and winter semesters following high school graduation.
  • If you withdraw from school or do not attend classes, the scholarship is forfeited.

Scholarship Award Criteria

  • Must see an OCC educational counselor and complete an Academic Plan of Study for the Fall 2023 and Winter 2024 semesters. Students may register for ONLY the classes listed on their Academic Plan of Study.Submit your Academic Plan of Study to your campus Financial Aid office.
  • Students must attain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and complete at least 67% of their credits in the fall semester to be eligible for the winter Chancellor’s Scholarship award.
  • If a student does not complete the above criteria, the scholarship may be forfeited for fall and/or winter semesters.

Scholarship Amount

The amount of the scholarship is $4,000 ($2,000 for the fall semester, $2,000 for the winter semester). This scholarship is non-renewable; good for only the first academic year following high school graduation.

Transcripts must be uploaded along with the Chancellor's Scholarship application in Scholarship Universe.
