Do I have to be an Oakland Community College (OCC) student to use ScholarshipUniverse?
How may profile questions do I have to answer?
|ScholarshipUniverse is open to currently enrolled students as well as incoming student.
Students may apply as soon as they have their OCC Student ID.
How often do I have to fill out the application?
|The more profile questions you answer, the more scholarships you might be matched
to now and in the future, so you are encouraged to answer as many as you can.
Can I verify my application was submitted?
|ScholarshipUniverse continuously searches for matched based on your students profile
in the tool and alerts you via email, but you must update your profile each semester
when the application reopens with information not captured in your student data, such
as personal interests.
I submitted my application. Can I make edits to my essays or upload a different document?
|Yes, application status can be viewed through the student portal within ScholarshipUniverse.
Click the Applications icon on the left side of the page to see if applications are
Ready to Start In progress or Submitted. Select the Submitted tab to see which applications
have been submitted for that award year.
Why can’t I edit some of my matching criteria?
|The submission of a scholarship application is final and essays or any documents submitted
cannot be edited. We highly recommend reviewing all documents prior to submitting
Can I be awarded more than one scholarship? Is there a maximum amount I can receive?
|Some of your account details cannot be edited because the information is loaded directly
from your student profile with Oakland Community College.
I received an email requiring my attention. How do I get more information?
|Award amounts can vary and can typically be combined with other scholarships and financial
aid award. However, a student my not receive aid that exceeds their cost of attendance.
|Any tasks that you are required to be completed can be done directly from your Scholarship
Universe profile under the “Action Required” section of your Dashboard.
