GIVING GUIDE
All gifts to OCC are tax-deductible. You may choose to support one or more programs
with a single gift or make multiple payments.
Annual Gifts
These are gifts made on a regular basis, form the backbone of all private support
for the College and may be designated for specific programs or services.
Beneficiary Designations
You can help the Foundation by leaving a bequest through wills, insurance policies,
a charitable gift annuity, IRAs, 401ks, cars and stocks. A gift by bequest can be
simple and incorporated into a will. The OCC Foundation recommends you share the suggested
bequest language with your professional advisor. The Foundation would be happy to
work with you to set up a bequest.
Employee Giving Appeal
OCC employees, current and retired are the most loyal donors to the OCC Foundation.
You understand the importance and see the impact that your giving has on students.
As a leader of student success, you champion the needs of students, which led to the
creation of the Student Success Fund (SSF). The SSF, is an immediate response to an
emergency need, removing barriers to student success.
Continue leading students to success by contributing to the Student Success Fund.
Endowed Gifts
Endowing a fund provides perpetual, lasting support for scholarships, books, academic
program, buildings and equipment. Contact us for information about how you can build
an endowment fund.
Matching Gifts
Your gift could be doubled or tripled if your employer supports your philanthropy.
Scholarship Options
With a gift of $1,000 or more, you can create a named one-year scholarship, establish
selection criteria and determine what it will pay for (such as tuition and books).
For $10,000 or more, you can set up an endowed scholarship that will continue in perpetuity.
These awards will be made each academic year based on the investment income earned
in the previous calendar year.
STUDENT SUCCESS FUND
The Student Success Fund provides immediate financial assistance to help currently
enrolled students, attending one of the five OCC campuses, through emergency situations
which are impeding their ability to continue their education. Emergency situations
involve circumstances which are beyond the student's control, such as an accident,
loss of income, illness, or unanticipated educational expenses. Students must have
exhausted all other sources of funding before applying for this program.
Funds are primarily used for the following emergency financial needs, but are flexible
enough to cover other situations:
- Food, rent or utilities
- Emergency transportation and vehicle repair
- Child care expenses
- Medical/dental expenses
- Educational expenses, including tuition, fees, books
Tributes and Memorials
Honoring a loved one, friend, colleague, company or organization by making a gift
to OCC Foundation is meaningful to the honoree as well as our students.
You can also honor a loved one by purchasing a brick that will be displayed at our
CREST (Combined Regional Emergency Services Training) site located at our Auburn Hills
Campus.
