Program Outcomes
Program outcomes represent broad areas of knowledge and skills developed over the duration of the program through a wide range of courses and experiences. These learning outcomes represent what a student should be able to know, think, or do upon successful completion of their program at Oakland Community College.
- Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of traditional and non-traditional organization schemes for collections and be able to apply the basics of library classification and organization schemes for collections.
- Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the ethics and values of the profession, including an understanding of the library bill of rights, the ALA code of ethics and freedom of information, and be able to apply principals, policies and procedures.
- Students will use Information Ethically: Student demonstrates an understanding that information has value by using it ethically.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of the role of technology in creating, identifying, retrieving, and accessing information resources and demonstrate facility with appropriate information discovery, storage and retrieval tools (Technology & Cataloging)
