Associate in Arts with a Concentration in Music (MUS.AA)
Program Outcomes
Program outcomes represent broad areas of knowledge and skills developed over the duration of the program through a wide range of courses and experiences. These learning outcomes represent what a student should be able to know, think, or do upon successful completion of their program at Oakland Community College.
- Students will demonstrate a thorough theoretical and aural understanding of the elements of diatonic/chromatic tonal Western-European music.
- Students will demonstrate a broad historical understanding of various genres of music. Including, but not limited to: Western-European music from antiquity to the present; World Music and cultures; and popular music from Blues to the present.
- Students, through technical and artistic development, will set goals and demonstrate improvement on his/her instrument or voice.
- Students will demonstrate an appreciation of aesthetic expression.
