Disability Services

Disability Services, also known as Accessibility Compliance Center and Education Support Services (ACCESS), is designed to provide accommodations and services to students with a documented disability.

Accommodations assigned by ACCESS Coordinators are applied through partnerships with faculty and student service providers such as Counselors.

Arrange for Accommodations

To arrange for an accommodations review, a student must make an appointment with the ACCESS department for an intake interview. Documentation regarding the student's disability should be presented at that time. Students enrolled in online courses who are unable to come to campus may confidentially exchange information with the ACCESS Offices through their OCC email accounts or by phone

Technology Requirements

Students who enroll in online courses are responsible for obtaining technology that will allow them to access online courses and resources.

Electronic and Audio Versions of Textbooks

Contact the ACCESS office for information about electronic and audio versions of textbooks and supplementary materials.

Online Course System

D2L, the learning management system (LMS) used by OCC, has a number of built-in accommodations for timed tests, assignments, and online forums.

Disability Tutoring

Students with disabilities enrolled in online courses interested in online ACCESS tutoring should contact the ACCESS Office to make arrangements.
