Bridges to Success, a High School-Sponsored College Readiness Program

Prepare Your Student for College

The Bridges to Success program is a 3-week summer program for 10th and 11th-grade students. This summer program is focused on college readiness and career planning and will take place from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. from Monday, July 6 - Thursday, July 23, 2026 at OCC's Royal Oak campus

Students can expect to:

  • Participate in two courses designed to prepare them for college
  • Have breakfast and lunch provided
  • Explore diverse career paths
  • Have the opportunity to earn up to four college credits

Once a student has completed the program, they will: 

  • Brand New Chromebook
  • Completion Certificate 
  • College Credits

Courses Your Student Will Take

ASC 1070: College Success Skills | This course is designed to improve students' academic performance. Students will practice strategies for test taking, studying, note taking, memory enhancement and time management. They will be given opportunities to apply these strategies to current coursework and other situations.

CNS 1150: Career Planning | This interactive career planning class will encourage students to explore their abilities, interests, skills, values and other aspects of getting to know themselves. They will learn career decision-making and goal-setting processes while using current technology for career research and job search skills. Students can expect to learn how to apply this knowledge in an ever-changing world.


Daily Schedule:
8:00 AM – Arrival and breakfast
8:30 AM–12:30 PM – Classes
12:30–1:15 PM – Lunch
1:15–2:00 PM – Resource Hour
2:00 PM – Dismissal

Cost:
For a 4-credit program, the costs are as follows:
$570 for in-district students
$978 for out-of-district students

Please talk with your high school counselor to see if this program may be fully sponsored by your high school using dual enrollment funds.

Next Steps:

  1. Complete the program interest form below.
  2. Apply to OCC as a Dual Enrollment student for Summer 2026. (If you are already a dual enrollment student at OCC, you do not need to apply again.)
  3. Complete the HSDE Authorization Form
  4. Complete required pre-registration steps: online orientation, English self-placement, and online learning readiness course in MyOCC.

Deadline:
All steps (1–4) must be completed by Friday, May 1, 2025. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
