The M-TECSM Testing Center offers large classrooms and computer labs offering the most advanced training technologies.  Economic and Workforce Development at Oakland Community College is located in the M-TECSM building at the Auburn Hills campus.

The Testing Center is conveniently located off of M-59 and Squirrel Road.

M-TECSM Testing Center - ACT® NCRC

ACT's National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is a portable credential that demonstrates achievement and a certain level of workplace employability skills in:

  • Applied Mathematics
  • Reading for Information
  • Locating Information

You will get a copy of your test score at the end of testing.
Test Fee: $51.00 (payable by credit card, check or money order on the day of the test)

M-TECSM Testing Center - ACT® WORKKEYS

ACT WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performance workforce. This series of tests measures foundational and soft skills and offers specialized assessments to target institutional needs.

M-TECSM Testing Center - HESI TESTING Exam FOR NURSING, RESPIRATORY THERAPY AND DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY

Oakland Community College requires applicants to take the HESI Entrance Exam.  You must achieve a minimum score of 75 on each section, achieved within the same testing session. Your score will be available at the end of the exam. Please keep a copy of your scores.

NOTE:  There is limited seating on each test day; Rescheduling is NOT allowed.  The NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE testing fee must be paid at the time of registration (price subject to change without notice).  Cancellations will NOT result in a refund.

Nursing and Respiratory Therapy: $68.00 (NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE)

To register for HESI:  

Go to  MyOCC

  1. Click on 'Continuing Education (Non-Credit)'
  2. Click on 'Register for Special Programs and Offerings'
  3. Continue on to 'Register for Special Programs and Offerings' as a guest
  4. Use the access codes listed on this page and click 'Submit'
  5. Select the test date with an 'Open' status and click 'Submit'
  6. Fill out your information in the form and click 'Submit'
  7. Make the payment using a credit/debit card
  8. Create Elsevier/HESI user account:
  • Go to Elsevier
  • Click on 'Register for this now'
  • Click on 'Redeem/Checkout'
  • Fill out your information and 'Continue'
  • CHECK for yes, I accept the Registered User Agreement, then click 'Submit'
  • Click on 'My Account' at the top right corner
  • Scroll down and click on 'Account Settings' 
  • Write down your username and password

Test Preparation:  Health Education Systems publishes a guide to help you prepare for the exam.  You may purchase the HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review from OCC's Highland Lakes or Southfield campus bookstores.

On Test Day:  Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to test start time with a government-issued, non-expired photo ID or your OCC Raiders' card and registration receipt.  You MUST bring your Elsevier account details (username and password) or you will not be allowed to test; NO REFUND


M-TECSM Testing Center - Proctoring Services

We offer testing services for students of other colleges and universities, individuals, businesses and industry, and groups. We administer both traditional (paper/pencil) and online tests.

Our Testing Center provides the best possible environment for testing. Our center is secure, we are away from the main campus hustle, we have ample parking and we have video monitoring of the testing area.

Test Fee: varies, based on the length/delivery/number of tests (paid by credit card, check or money order prior to test date)

M-TECSM Testing Center - Pearson Vue

Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers are privately owned, third-party testing facilities which provide on-site, on-demand testing for certification and professional licensure exams.

To schedule a test:

Visit Pearson Vue and select the relevant test program from the Test Taker Services section. Next, select 'Schedule a Test' and complete the necessary fields. Upon confirming the booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Pearson VUE. At a minimum, this confirmation will contain information such as the time, date and location of your test, including directions to the test center.

Arriving at the PVTC and Check-In:

Typically, you are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. The amount of time you are asked to arrive at the center before your scheduled appointment time differs for each program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.

When candidates arrive for an exam, they go through a standard admissions process. Candidates are asked to provide two forms of identification, to agree in writing to a set of exam rules and to sign a log sheet. In most cases, your photo and signature will be digitally captured as they would appear on your results report. Some exam sponsors may have other identification or check-in requirements. The items you are asked to bring differs for each test program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.
