Hispanic Heritage Month

Oakland Community College proudly joins in celebrating national Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15–Oct. 15, 2025. This year’s theme, Collective Heritage: Honoring thehispanic heritage month Past, Inspiring the Future, highlights the powerful history, traditions and contributions of Hispanic and Latine communities in shaping our society.

While events are planned throughout the month, we continue the celebration throughout the Fall semester with programs and college-wide engagement.

“At Oakland Community College, we believe that understanding where we come from strengthens where we are going,” said Kristina Marshall, OCC Director of Institutional Standards and Practices. “As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we honor the stories, values and legacies that continue to shape our collective future.”
